What is the Feminine Form of Chief Anyway?

I was so delighted by the easy-going style of this “interview” that I am publishing this almost word for word as the "letter" to me it appears to be.  Enjoy learning about a certain Chief Rhen…

 

Hail General Candel and greetings from the UK!

 

I would like to start by pointing out that the mighty Chief Rhen is female - not a dude, bro, mate or lord—just simply a lady! I think the name causes some confusion, but if you can see my shiny red stilettos peeking out from beneath my suit of armor, my frosted pink lipstick and flowing locks then be in no doubt this chief is definitely a lady! I suppose I could change my name but I've grown quite fond of it now and also I hate to waste legend points!!!

 

You see, Chief Rhen is an easy-going gal who tries to play fair - rarely hitting anything other than an ATM more than once (if a second hit is made it's usually because of clumsy fingers!).  And if I've hit someone by mistake I always send them an apology, a kiss and a bunch of flowers!  Her attire is flowing robes and elaborate sashes with long wavy hair and as for her footwear its a new pair of shoes or boots every single day because she (like me!) is obsessed with things that can be worn on her feet! When it comes to weapons at the moment she is heavily into defence and has had to skip the the lovely venemous serpent bow and the glowing devils axe in favor of more defensive items giving way to the dragons fang (not quite so pretty!).  The shield of illusion is a nice pretty thing but she's more excited about picking up a very nice pair of boots that come at a higher level.  Her favorite though is the spells - each one is exciting but always sooo expensive on upkeep. 

 

I entered into the kingdom quite by mistake. I first became the owner of an iPhone in September 2009 and initially thought of it as a mobile communcation tool only.  I can't believe I used to phone people and drop texts to my friends when I could have been engaging in battle!!!

 

My boyfriend used to sit at the dinner table hitting buttons on his phone and it made funny noises and this piqued my interest.  One night I wrestled his phone from him and saw a screen full of attack tags and, unable to resist, I hit one.  Amazingly I had just won my first battle and looted a nice pot of gold! At this point I did not understand the concept of comparing weapons with an opponent and proceeded to lose 3 more battles whilst the BF tried to get his phone back and rescue his win/loss ratio.

 

I thought no more of it for a few weeks until I went to transfer a song from my phone onto itunes and ended up with all the BFs downloads, contacts etc appearing on my iphone. I passed the phone to him and instructed him to do whatever it was he had to do to set me up, fully expecting never to really look at it!  So Chief Rhen entered into the kingdom late October of 2009 (at level 6)!!! And she's rarely far away from the kingdom now - most definitely a regular!! Having never played a multi-player game before I had some learning to do!

 

Early on in my creation I would follow various peoples’ comms but rarely made posts myself unless it was to thank someone for an invite or welcome them when they accepted mine.  I was often heartened by peoples posts to one another - offering help and advice for the game, asking how their day was or just generally joking around with one another.   But sometimes I was shocked by the aggression and hatred projected by others. The latter type of player I try to avoid like the plague! 

 

Now I'm posting all the time!!! Boy can I talk!  As time goes on in KL relationships are built up - there are so many lovely people playing this game and I guess in this world of alter-egos we are definitely friends.  I have a few favorites who I exchange messages with regularly, ranging from the mundane to the outrageously ridiculous! But it's all good fun.  If I have an invite through from a new low level player I try to send them some useful codes to add too and this often leads to them making the odd 'hi, how ya doing?' post popping up on my screen.

 

I've not considered joining a clan - I've had a couple of invites. If I did it would have to be a peaceful clan as I don't want to spend all my time in the kingdom sticking random people on the BL or riding it myself! The first time I was put on the BL I was hurt!! I woke up one morning to find that someone 5 or so levels lower than me had spent a lot of their time and money (100,000 bounty, I must be worth it!!!) putting me up. I'd never come across this person so I considered my options and did what any self-respecting chief would do - I stuck them on the BL (but only for 200)!!!! Me and my protagonist continued to play this BL game for a week until I think we both just got bored of it and gave up!! It's funny now but at the time I was getting really fed up with the guy! I often have a look at the BL now and hit if I can but I would have to have good reason to put someone on there.

 

I haven't joined a chat group - I spend sooo much time posting notes with friends I haven't got time! When 'chatting' with friends we often talk about personal stuff but I always delete real personal comms so others (strangers?) can't see. I see this game very much as a social networking platform which allows people from all over the world to communicate as well as having fun fighting battles. Apart from my BF, I have no real life friends in this game.  If they were then perhaps they wouldn't find it so strange that I have to get my phone out of my bag every 50 mins to vault my gold!!!!

ooooo LUV the battle boots.. are those Jimmy's or possibly Christian Louboutin??? Essa, Myst and I wanna pair - can we get them in polished or gold... do they come in a gem studded version as well????
